App for the repair shop: 20,000 downloads

The Motorservice app is gaining popularity with repair shop employees: since its introduction in 2016, it has been downloaded over 20,000 times. The easy-to-use service and information tool makes day-to-day work easier for repair shop employees with its wide range of functions. Information about the product range from the spare parts specialists, as well as technical assistance, can be called up when on the go from anywhere in the world.

“As the download figures show, there is a lot of demand for our app. We’re pleased that it’s being used so often. After all, it is intended as a free service for our customers. We therefore checked during development exactly which functions provide a real benefit to our customers,” stresses Sven Zeitler, the Head of Marketing at Motorservice. Since then, the tool has been continually developed further: in addition to improved search functions, it has been technically optimised multiple times. According to Zeitler, new functions will also continuously be added in the future: “If we find out that there's something that our customers need, we check to see whether we can integrate a corresponding solution into the app.”

App functions
The Motorservice app pools together know-how from different platforms, e.g. the company website, the Technipedia knowledge platform or the OnlineShop, and makes it quickly and easily accessible on the go via smartphone. Alongside company news, numerous technical videos and documents with fitting instructions, system explanations and diagnostic tips, the user has access to functions such as a dealer search worldwide and, last but not least, an item search based on the TecDoc catalogue. Another useful function is the “Fake Check”. By scanning the barcode of Motorservice parts from Kolbenschmidt, Pierburg, BF or TRW Engine Components, the user can see immediately whether they are genuine or fake.

The app is available for Android™ from Google Play Store and for IOS from App Store, both free of charge.
